Health, Safety, and Environment Test

The operatives test makes sure that the workers have a minimum level of awareness about health, safety, and the environment. The test covers the   following core areas:

• Work environment 
• Occupational health 
• Safety 
• High-risk activities 
• Specialist 

  To pass the test you need to answer at least 45 out of 50 questions correctly and score 90% on the test.  

The specialist test comprises questions from the five core areas covered in the operatives test along with the other relevant questions from the specialist areas. The following are the other important topics for the test:

• supervisory (SUP)
• demolition (DEM)
• plumbing (JIB) (PLUM)
• highway works (HIW)
• specialist work at height (WAH)
• lifts and escalators (LAEE)
• tunneling (TUNN)
• HVACR – heating and plumbing services (HAPS)
• HVACR – pipefitting and welding (PFW)
• HVACR – ductwork (DUCT)
• HVACR – refrigeration and air conditioning (RAAC)
• HVACE – services and facilities maintenance (SAF)

To pass the test you need to answer at least 45 out of 50 questions correctly and score 90% on the test.

The test covers the following 6 core areas: 

• Legal and management
• Health and welfare
• General safety
• High-risk activities
• Environment
• Specialist activities

The specialist activities include questions pertaining to Construction, Demolition, and Highway work. To pass the test you need to answer 46 out of 50 questions correctly and score 92%.
